President’s Address

Dear Esteemed Members,

It is a great honor for me to serve as the President of the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association (TNOA). TNOA stands as one of the oldest and largest organizations in our field, encompassing approximately 4,000 members united in a shared mission to advance ophthalmic care and knowledge, marked by numerous significant achievements.

As President, I would like to outline the following commitments for the upcoming year:

1. CME sessions

ARC is committed to conducting 10 to 12 physical CMEs in smaller towns of Tamil Nadu with commitment to enriching ophthalmologists with knowledge and practice.

2. Promotion of General Eye Health Awareness

We aim to elevate the prominence of general eye care and health awareness within our communities. All eye care providers are encouraged to actively promote these initiatives, and TNOA will fully support all efforts undertaken in this regard.

3. Business Meetings

As ophthalmologists today, it is vital to have business acumen too. TNOA is committed to facilitating such meetings.We have curated a two-day course at the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad in the month of October, exclusively organized for our members. This unique opportunity is here to provide focused and enriching experience.More such additional programs are being planned withAravind Eye Care System, ensuring that all members benefit from these engagements.

4. Insurance Formalities

Insurance formalities can be cumbersome to solo practitioners and TNOA will implement measures to assist members in navigating the protocols established by insurance companies and TPAs while ensuring compliance with regulations. TNOA will help ophthalmologists with the necessary formal aid for overcoming difficulties with insurance companies/TPAs

5. Government Regulations

TNOA will help practitioners understand the processes for obtaining necessary licenses from various departments vital for clinical practice like Fire Safety, Water and Air Pollution Control, Clinical Establishment Act, Corporation Registration and other government mandatory certification. Points of contact can be shared to the members of the association and Standard Operating Formats will be advised for easier navigation.
